...something unknown is doing I don't know what, and that is what our knowledge amounts to.

Although my faith in our entire species is at an all time low right now, said faith was partially restored this evening. See, after i had finished stuffing my car with petrol i proceeded toward the doors of the store to pay. There was a near 30 year old man in front of me, quite a far way actually. He opened the door for himself and stood there for a good 40 seconds holding the door until i got there. He let me in front of him in the line even though i had to chose an ice cream. I held my ice cream not so firmly while i waited for a boy, i presume to be younger than me, to pay for his goods. It was my turn to pay, i did so without a glitch. once i reached the exit i was surprised to see the same young boy who was in front of me, hold the door for me. So is the case with most uplifting moments, there is always a jackass to spoil it.

Once i arrived at my parents house im confronted with the horrible news that my brother/favourite person of all time has been successful in his application to work and live on an island. i received this news from my dad. my brother has known for over a week and hasn't told me. he leaves monday week. oh joy.
